Predators, Senators “Chatted” About Erik Karlsson

As the NHL trade deadline approaches, a the trade rumor mill is heating up.

According to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, Nashville Predators general manager David Poile “chatted” with the Ottawa Sentators about a trade for defenseman Erik Karlsson.

A deal is unlikely but the fact that the two sides had a brief discussion shows that something could be worked out. In that case, Nashville could form a dangerous team if Karlsson is added to the likes of P.K Subban, Ryan Ellis, Mattias Ekholm and Roman Josi, assuming none of the aforementioned names are sent to Ottawa in a deal.

Karlsson, a four-time All-Star and two-time Norris Trophy winner, has recorded 41 points in 54 games this season.
